The Identilock May Be What The World Needs For Gun Control

The Identilock May Be What The World Needs For Gun Control
Bond, James Bond.

With technology being integrated in almost everything that we use, it's probably about time that it gets its way into weapons. And apparently, that just happened. Meet Identilock, a smart gun lock that, as its name suggests, locks your gun's pistol trigger. It does the job by recognizing your fingerprint, and it won't unlock unless it successfully knows that it's you.

The Identilock, in the flesh.

It's really like James Bond all over again – it has the touch of future in both its design and its idea, and you'll feel like a spy or Time Cop either way.

Of course, the Indentilock is battery operated. It lasts for six months of operation, and you can recharge it via microUSB should it run out of juice. And if such a case does happen during an emergency, you have a mechanical key as back up to unlock it.

TheIdentilock is now up for pre-orders for $319. While that's a bit steep in perspective, having additional safety is all worth the price. However, even with this, you're probably not going to want to leave it lying around the table or whatnot. You've seen guns fall to the ground and still fire in the movies – it's fiction, but hey, let's all be safe.
