The Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 9 is a blast, and you should watch it. If you still haven't, read this. at. all.costs.
Okay, to give you guys a hint of what's in store for you, if you still haven't watched the latest episode of The Walking Dead, here are two titles I have in mind for it: “The Stand” and “Clear.” Word of note, MAJOR SPOILERS ABOUND.
There's been a bevy of rumors and speculations right after halftime for the Season 6 of The Walking Dead aired. It stopped right after Negan made his surprising appearance after the credits rolled. At this point, fans have been pointing out that Glenn isn't safe (after his supposed death at the hands of walkers, but it turns out that asshole-turned-good-guy Nicholas was the one they were gnawing at). Of course, fans have been researching if that has been cemented, until later they find out that his death in the graphic novel was at the hands of Negan himself.
This may be what pushed the creators to troll the fans. Right on the onset of Episode 9, Negan stops Sasha, Abraham and Daryl at their tracks and “attempts” to mug them. Now, this probably struck fear into everyone's minds as another “big bad” seems to have arrived. Soon after, Daryl blasts him and his henchmen into only-god-knows-which-part-of-oblivion with an RPG. Like, that's one way to go!
Meanwhile at Alexandria wastelands of Alexandria, Rick and the gang attempt to push through at the hordes of walkers that have swarmed into the town. For god knows what reason, they once again split up and once again made illogical decisions like splitting up. Father Gabriel seems to have his heel-face turn and redeems himself by taking Judith to a safe place. Jessie took that as an opportunity to bring his spoiled-of-a-kid Sam to chase safety with the now-redeemed priest. Darn kid doesn't want to, but then all is lost afterwards.
While wading through the horde, the brat suddenly lost it and detracted himself away from the team. What happens? Quite the shocking bit, actually. Right off the bat, the walkers lunged at him and took large chunks. Dead in seconds. Jessie, the mother, of course we can sympathize, cries and screams for his brat of a kid. This is when you wish everyone would come to their senses, especially now that they've already come so far. Just like that, she attracted the walkers and in seconds, she was turned into a juicy pile of flesh. Her panic and fear might have made her grip on Carl's hand like that of a burmese python, and he's the next one trapped.
Last few episodes saw the build up of Rick's and Jessie's relationship, and we had thought that it could have gone through. Now, Officer friendly reluctantly chopped off the pile of flesh's hand to free Carl. This did not bode well for Ron, his other son who's been thinking of exacting his revenge. He points a gun at Rick, and in a span of few seconds, Michonne's sword drew through Ron's heart, but then a gunshot. When a gunshot happens, always assume that someone's hit. And yes, Carl just dropped as the bullet went through his right eye. Fuck no.
Meanwhile, Morgan the Zen-man crossed paths with Carol's badassery, but ends up getting his ass handed to him. The wolf he had captured to turn into another Zen-bro was already too far to save, and ends up taking Denise as hostage.
This guy tried to convince that Denise would make it through in both the turmoil in Alexandria and as part of his pack. During their escape however, Denise was left behind, and an attempt to rescue her, that guy did the unthinkable and took the risk to save her. He ends up bitten, though, but now it was clear that he had changed. Denise thinks that he could save her, but moments after, Carol snipes him with a pistol, but may have regretted the decision after she saw that he had changed.
The scene goes back to Rick and Michone, who manage to rendezvous with other survivors. After realizing that he needs to pay back the walkers for what happened to his kid, he goes on a killing spree and “clears” Alexandria.
On the other side, Glen and Enid attempt to rescue Maggie, who at this time, is alone in a wobbly tower that's soon to crumble. Enid manages to rescue Maggie as Glenn diverted the walkers into his way. Now surrounded, the moment that the showrunners wanted to show the middle-finger to fans came creeping on. But no, not today! Daryl and crew arrive just in time, firing at the horde of walkers.
Now, Rick still is out for blood, and he doesn't want to stop until each and every walker drops dead and hits the floor. Everyone sees Officer Friendly making his “stand.” Right then, they banded together to rid Alexandria of all the walkers that plagued Alexandria.
My god I held my breath for too long on that one. The Walking Dead Season 6, Episode 9 is, in a personal perspective, the best episode of the series yet. The show just pushed the limits and played on the fear of its fans, and I bet you were also at the edge of your seat with your muscles all tightened up. Once the death started, you never thought it could take another one so fast. It's just a must-watch.
Something to take note of, just in case. What if that's actually not Negan, and he's only a henchman?
