Capcom Spotlight 2025 reveals Resident Evil Requiem, Pragmata's 2026 release, Monster Hunter Wilds update, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and more.

Capcom recently presented its latest "Capcom Spotlight," offering updates on existing titles and introducing new information for upcoming games. This presentation covered a range of genres, from new intellectual properties to significant updates for established franchises.

Pragmata

We're inching closer to Capcom's newest IP! Pragmata, the highly anticipated sci-fi action-adventure is finally slated for a 2026 release, and we're getting more info about the game. Pragmata centers on Hugh Williams, who, with an android named Diana, navigates a post-disaster lunar landscape to return to Earth. Gameplay incorporates a hacking mechanic, allowing players to disarm enemy armor before exploiting weak points. Pragmata will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.

Street Fighter 6: Sagat's Arrival

Sagat, a prominent character in the Street Fighter series, is set to join Street Fighter 6 on August 5th. In anticipation of his release, the "Sagat Arrives Fighting Pass" will be available from July 4th, offering cosmetic rewards. Additionally, Outfit 4 content will be released for seven characters, with more planned for the full roster.

Capcom Pro Tour 2025

Entries are now open for the Capcom Pro Tour 2025. This global competition provides a pathway for players to qualify for the Capcom Cup 12 tournament, to be held in Japan. The winner of the Capcom Cup will receive a $1 million prize.

Kunitsugami: Path of the Goddess

Kunitsugami: Path of the Goddess lands on the Nintendo Switch 2, blending dance-like action with strategic gameplay in a beautifully crafted world inspired by Japanese tradition. On the Switch 2, players can take advantage of new features like mouse control support and enjoy seamless play in handheld mode. A free update also adds the new “Otherworldly Venture” mode, where players defend the Maiden against nightly waves of enemies while aiming for high scores. In celebration of the game's upcoming first anniversary, a special 8-bit style music talisman called “Yashichi Waves” will be available in a future free update.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2

A new compilation, Capcom Fighting Collection 2, is now available. This collection features eight action and fighting games, including titles from the Capcom vs. SNK series. It includes a training mode, a gallery, and simplified special move inputs.

Onimusha Series Updates

The Onimusha series received attention with two announcements: Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny Remaster is currently available, featuring updated graphics and gameplay. Looking ahead, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the next entry in the series, is scheduled for 2026. This new game is set in early Edo period Koto and will feature Miyamoto Musashi.

Capcom Digital Sale

Capcom announced a digital sale on various titles. This includes the first-time sale of Monster Hunter Wilds, alongside other Monster Hunter games, Resident Evil titles, Dragon's Dogma 2, Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection, Arcade Classics, and Ace Attorney titles.

Resident Evil Requiem

We got more info on Resident Evil Requiem from the developers of the game during the Capcom Spotlight. Director Koshi Nakanishi shared his thoughts on the development of the game and its focus, and how it served as a launching point for Requiem. Producer Masachika Kawata also notes that "horror" is a key feature of the game, although I do wonder if it's more of the atmosphere of the game or it will be a part of the game mechanic by the way he put it. We also got more details on Grace Ashcroft, an FBI intelligence analyst who is the protagonist of the game. Based on the description, she's introverted and easily scared, which is quite different from the previous installments (aside from Ethan Winters who didn't really have any combat experience during RE7. Oh, Nakanishi also mentioned that they always thought about making Leon the protagonist of Requiem, but it's difficult to make a horror game around him. We did like RE2 and RE4 remakes though. Although we do get what you mean. Resident Evil Requiem is set to be released on February 27, 2026, in time before the franchise's 30-year anniversary on March 2026.

Monster Hunter Wilds Update

Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2 is set to arrive June 30th, and we're getting Lagiacrus and Seregios, as well as the powerful Arch-tempered Uth Duna. Lagiacrus' return also marks the long-awaited reintroduction of underwater combat. The update also adds Layered Weapons, Handler switching, new weapon balance changes, and the Festival of Accord: Flamefete seasonal event. Oh, and let's not forget the partnership with Fender.
