HoYoverse Reveals Genshin Impact Version Luna VII and New Playable Characters

Genshin Impact Luna VII launches May 20 with a new Sumeru Archon Quest, Nicole, Lohen, Prune, limited-time events, and more.

HoYoverse has officially announced that Genshin Impact Version “Luna VII,” titled “Truth Amongst the Pages of Purana,” will launch on May 20, bringing players back to Sumeru for a major new Archon Quest alongside new playable characters and limited-time events.

The update introduces Nicole, the first playable member of the Hexenzirkel, alongside new characters Lohen and Prune, while also expanding the story surrounding Sumeru’s growing crisis.

Sumeru Faces a New Crisis

Version “Luna VII” pushes Sumeru into turmoil as Nahida falls into an unexplained slumber, leaving the nation vulnerable to chaos.

At the center of the conflict is a mysterious new adversary whose appearance bears striking similarities to Il Dottore, despite his supposed defeat. Familiar faces including Collei, Ibis King Thoth, and Nicole will become involved as the situation escalates.

Players who complete the Archon Quest during the limited-time period can earn up to 560 Primogems, Nicole’s Ascension Materials, and access to a new Weekly Boss featuring unpredictable mechanics and devastating attacks.

To improve the story experience, the update also introduces the new Guiding Notes feature, offering in-game story recaps, alongside enhanced autosave prompts for quests.

Nicole Becomes the First Playable Hexenzirkel Member

Version “Luna VII” marks the debut of Nicole Reeyn, the first playable mage from the mysterious Hexenzirkel.

Nicole is a 5-star Pyro Catalyst character focused on teamwide support. Her Elemental Skill grants an ATK bonus to the entire party while generating a shield, including support for off-field teammates.

Her Elemental Burst summons an Arcane Projection that follows the active character and launches Coordinated Attacks based on their Elemental Type, gaining additional effects under Hexerei: Secret Rite.

Outside combat, Nicole can also summon a Seelie with her Charged Attack to help locate nearby treasure.

The update will additionally open the interior of the Witch’s Lodge inside Nicole’s Meeting Point: The Witch’s Garden, introducing new rooms, weekly unlocks, and hidden rewards.

Lohen and Prune Join the Roster

Lohen, Vice Captain of the Knights of Favonius’ Fifth Company, joins as a new 5-star Cryo Polearm character.

His combat style revolves around managing two unique resources: “Joy” and “Will to Win.” Through his Elemental Skill, he can enter the Masterstroke state to unleash enhanced attacks while building additional strength through team synergy.

Lohen also benefits from interactions with Hexerei characters, further enhancing his effectiveness in battle. His Story Quest explores a previously untold chapter of the Knights of Favonius.

Prune, a 4-star Anemo Catalyst character and self-proclaimed “Witch Hunter,” also joins the update. Armed with a bell and giant hammer, she specializes in multi-elemental attacks and Swirl reactions.

Event Wishes and Limited-Time Activities

The first half of Version “Luna VII” will feature Nicole and Prune’s debut banners alongside Durin’s rerun. The second half introduces Lohen and brings back Mavuika.

Players can also participate in a new limited-time event centered around Klee’s Little Hexenzirkel, featuring mini-games alongside Qiqi, Yaoyao, Sayu, and Prune.

Rewards include the exclusive weapon appearance Super Awesome Magic Key.

Miliastra Wonderland and New Features

Miliastra Wonderland will host a special sports festival event during the update, while new functionality allows Manekins to perform actions across Teyvat for expanded photo opportunities using the Kamera.

Version “Luna VII” also expands the game’s editing tools and creative assets, offering players more customization and content creation options.
