AMD Launches Radeon RX 9070 GRE and New Ryzen X3D Processors at Computex 2026

AMD continues to expand its gaming ecosystem across both existing and next-generation platforms.

At Computex 2026, AMD unveiled a series of new gaming-focused products and platform updates, including the global launch of the Radeon RX 9070 GRE graphics card, the introduction of the Ryzen 7 7700X3D processor, and a special Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition to celebrate a decade of the Socket AM4 platform.

The company also confirmed extended support for the Socket AM5 platform through 2029, reinforcing its long-term commitment to upgradeability and platform longevity for PC gamers and enthusiasts.

Celebrating 10 Years of Socket AM4

AMD's Socket AM4 platform has served as the foundation for multiple generations of Ryzen processors since its introduction, becoming one of the longest-supported enthusiast desktop platforms in the industry.

To commemorate the platform's tenth anniversary, AMD announced the Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition. The processor builds upon the legacy of the original Ryzen 7 5800X3D, which was the first Ryzen processor to feature AMD 3D V-Cache technology.

The special edition bundle includes a Carbice Ice Pad thermal interface material designed to simplify installation while delivering long-term thermal performance.

The Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition will be available beginning June 25 with a suggested retail price of US$349.

 

Ryzen 7 7700X3D Brings 3D V-Cache to More AM5 Gamers

AMD also introduced the Ryzen 7 7700X3D, expanding its lineup of gaming-focused processors powered by AMD 3D V-Cache technology.

The new processor features eight cores, 104MB of total cache, and boost clock speeds of up to 4.5GHz. AMD positions the chip as an accessible entry point into the AM5 ecosystem while delivering the gaming performance benefits associated with 3D V-Cache technology.

The Ryzen 7 7700X3D will be available starting July 16 with a suggested retail price of US$329.

 

AMD Extends Socket AM5 Support Through 2029

Alongside the new processor announcement, AMD confirmed that Socket AM5 will continue to receive support through 2029.

The extension provides PC builders and gamers with a longer upgrade path, allowing future processor upgrades without requiring a complete platform replacement. AMD noted that the commitment mirrors its long-term support strategy for Socket AM4, which remained compatible across multiple processor generations over nearly a decade.

 

Radeon RX 9070 GRE Expands RDNA 4 Gaming Lineup

AMD also announced the global availability of the Radeon RX 9070 GRE graphics card, bringing the company's RDNA 4 architecture to a broader audience.

The graphics card features 48 RDNA 4 Compute Units, 12GB of memory, and boost clock speeds of up to 2.79GHz. AMD claims the GPU delivers an average of 21% faster 1440p gaming performance compared to competing products in its class.

In addition to improved rasterization performance, the Radeon RX 9070 GRE supports advanced ray tracing capabilities and AI-enhanced gaming experiences through AMD's latest FidelityFX Super Resolution technologies, which are now available in more than 300 games.

The Radeon RX 9070 GRE will be available globally from AMD board partners beginning June 2 in both reference and factory-overclocked variants, with a suggested retail price of US$549.

 

AMD Introduces EXPO Ultra Low Latency Memory Technology

AMD also highlighted advancements to its EXPO memory overclocking ecosystem with the introduction of AMD EXPO Technology featuring Ultra Low Latency (ULL).

According to AMD, compatible memory kits can deliver an average performance improvement of up to 4% in gaming workloads compared to standard AMD EXPO memory configurations.

Certified AMD EXPO ULL memory kits are expected to become available from memory partners beginning in June 2026.

With new processors, graphics cards, memory technologies, and extended platform support, AMD continues to expand its gaming ecosystem across both existing and next-generation platforms.

The announcements provide additional options for gamers looking to upgrade older AM4 systems, build new AM5-based PCs, or pair Ryzen processors with Radeon graphics for high-performance gaming experiences at 1440p and beyond.
