The Witcher on Netflix: Pilot Script Complete – Prepare for Geralt and Chill

Following the success of the Castlevania animated series and the Death Note Netflix-exclusive flick (The success of the latter is up for you to decide), means that Netflix is getting bold on offering content that suits the loyal niche tastes, apart from its casual offerings.

Following last year's announcement of The Witcher getting a TV Series run, more progress has evolved from there. Helmed by Lauren S. Hissrich (of Netflix Daredevil fame) as writer and showrunner, the upcoming Witcher TV Show pilot is nearly complete. First draft of the pilot is 78 pages long, according to her Twitter Post. Also in the same post, feedback is being gathered, and that no date has been promised yet, as she wants the show to be “GOOD” and not rushed at all. Kudos to that mindset.

The Witcher Live-Action series will be based on the Novel and will stick much closer to it compared to what liberties CD Projekt Red has made for it. This certainly will be delighting author Andrzej Sapkowski, whom regrets not having a larger stake in the Video Game franchise when it first came out. He's pegged as the creative consultant for his novel so the outcome should more or less please all bases this time around.

I really believe they should take their sweet time in the adaptation of Geralt of Rivia's adventures, as this could really help them over the reportedly huge debt they have accumulated over the years. (not that Netflix needs much of that help, but it would be huge for them to leverage niche content and boost their popularity altogether).
