Kingdom Hearts III is Still on Track for 2018

Tetsuya Nomura doesn’t exactly push through every time there’s mention of a release date. Final Fantasy XV and Final Fantasy VII Remake are very great definitions of this, and of course, let’s not forget Kingdom Hearts III. Apparently, Square Enix thinks that Sora and the gang will indeed appear this year as the company is very adamant in keeping the game’s release window for 2018.

This is very well indicated in Square Enix’s latest financial report. Kingdom Hearts III is still slated for a 2018 release, together with two upcoming games Octopath Traveler and Shadow of the Tomb Raider headlining for the publisher for 2018.

Of course, this doesn’t really mean that it’s set in stone and we can expect Kingdom Hearts III to come out this year for good. We’ve had extensive delays all thanks to the publisher’s decision to switch Luminous Engine to Unreal Engine 4 a year in its development.

If Square Enix really will ship Kingdom Hearts III for 2018, then that’s all good. However, here we are keeping our expectations at a minimum. Just in case.
