CORSAIR Reveals the A500 CPU Cooler

Plenty of new stuff coming out at CES 2020, as per usual. Corsair this time around is getting all serious with air cooling as it unveils its A500 Air Cooler.

Going into specifics, the A500 is a Dual Fan CPU Cooler that utilizes a quad-direct contact heat pipe design. Corsair says it comes with a slide-and-lock fan mount system for fan height adjustment, and we’re interested to see how this works and how it’s going to compete with other lock and mount mechanisms. Corsair’s method works with the fans sitting within a ratcheting slide-and-lock fan mount to allow for variable fan height.

Furthermore, the A500 can work its magic on CPUs with 250W TDP. The fans are also two of Corsair’s ML120 magnetic levitation bearings that can be controlled between 400RPM to 2400RPM.

The A500 uses Corsair’s HoldFast retention system, which is compatible with AM4, AM3, FM2, LGA115x, and LGA20xx CPUs.

No news on a possible release date yet, but we’re very much interested to see how it’s going to stack against Noctua’s NH-D15 and NH-U12A.
