LG Launches UltraGear evo at CES 2026 With 5K AI Upscaling and 52-Inch 5K2K 240Hz Gaming Monitor

LG Electronics has officially announced the global launch of its new premium gaming monitor brand, UltraGear evo™, following its debut at CES 2026. Expanding on LG’s established leadership in 5K and 5K2K gaming displays, the new lineup pushes high-resolution gaming even further with a portfolio that spans OLED, New MiniLED, and ultra-wide form factors. The goal is simple but ambitious: deliver uncompromised clarity, speed, and immersion across multiple screen sizes without forcing gamers into costly GPU upgrades.

The inaugural UltraGear evo lineup includes three flagship models: the 39GX950B, 27GM950B, and 52G930B. These are all built around a shared foundation of high-resolution performance. At the core of this new generation is LG’s proprietary on-device AI solution, which powers what the company calls the world’s first 5K AI Upscaling technology. Designed to enhance content in real time before it reaches the panel, the system enables 5K-class clarity while minimizing GPU overhead.

39GX950B: 39-Inch 5K2K OLED With Dual Mode Flexibility

The UltraGear evo 39GX950B builds on the GX9 legacy as a 39-inch 5K2K OLED gaming monitor engineered for both cinematic immersion and competitive performance. Using LG’s Primary RGB Tandem OLED technology, it delivers improved brightness, color accuracy, panel longevity, perfect blacks, and lifelike color reproduction.

Its on-device AI solution enables 5K AI Upscaling, AI Scene Optimization, and AI Sound, refining both visuals and audio in real time. Gamers can switch between 165Hz at full 5K2K resolution and 330Hz at WFHD via Dual Mode, backed by an ultra-fast 0.03ms (GtG) response time. The 1500R-curved 21:9 display retains the vertical height of a 32-inch screen while expanding horizontal immersion, with 142 PPI and VESA DisplayHDR™ True Black 500 certification ensuring sharp highlights and deep blacks.

27GM950B: World’s First 5K New MiniLED Monitor

The 27GM950B introduces what LG describes as the world’s first 27-inch 5K New MiniLED gaming monitor. Designed to dramatically reduce blooming, it features 2,304 local dimming zones alongside Zero Optical Distance engineering to minimize panel-to-LED gaps for enhanced luminance and contrast precision.

Like its OLED sibling, the 27GM950B integrates LG’s on-device AI solution, delivering 5K AI Upscaling, AI Scene Optimization, and AI Sound without added GPU strain. Dual Mode allows switching between 165Hz at 5K resolution and 330Hz at QHD, supported by a 1ms (GtG) response time. With VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification and peak brightness of up to 1,250 nits, the display is built to render intense highlights and deep blacks with striking realism.

52G930B: World’s Largest 5K2K Gaming Monitor

The 52G930B expands the category with what LG calls the world’s largest 5K2K gaming monitor. Featuring a massive 52-inch panel with a 240Hz refresh rate, it offers the vertical height of a 42-inch 16:9 display while stretching horizontally into a 12:9 panoramic format that is 33 percent wider than standard UHD monitors.

A 1000R curvature enhances peripheral immersion, while VESA DisplayHDR™ 600 validation ensures vivid colors and deep contrast across expansive scenes. The large-format design positions the 52G930B as both a gaming centerpiece and a productivity powerhouse.

UltraGear GX7 Also Rolls Out Globally

Alongside the evo series, LG has also begun global sales of the UltraGear™ GX7 (27GX790B). The 27-inch QHD monitor features a Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel with a blistering 540Hz refresh rate and Dual Mode that supports HD at up to 720Hz, targeting competitive gamers who prioritize ultra-high frame rates.

The UltraGear evo lineup was showcased at CES 2026, featuring themed zones such as the “Dream Setup” inspired by Reddit gaming communities and a SimCraft-powered racing simulation built around the 39GX950B. With the global rollout now underway, LG is positioning UltraGear evo as a new benchmark in high-resolution gaming displays for both consumer and professional markets.
