Okay, hard core modes in several games exist for a reason – they give the thrill as if you're living life itself in the video game, albeit one in a fantasy. You only have one life to spend, and you have to be absolutely careful in every step and decision you make. Die and you're going to say goodbye to your avatar, forever. Or unless you manage to back it up, that is. However, a new post-apocalyptic title, One Life, takes it a step further as it doesn't only lock you out of your avatar, but it also kicks you out of the game, forever.

It's all about permadeth – once you die in One Life, say goodbye to playing it again unless you plan on making another Steam account. It's a true hard-core game if I do say so myself, but imagine how people only 5 to 10 minutes in the game would fee. What a massive ripoff!

“Forgive, humiliate, finish off, take everything he has – it’s your choice. Saved life of some loser? Take them captive and make them work off. They will do everything to be free again. No other game will give you this feeling of power over other people.” reads on the title's Greenlight page.

One Life is all about surviving in a post-apocalyptic setting, and it would be darn hard to do it on your own. Furthermore, there are so many aspects and angles that can riddle the game as a sham. Hackers, cheaters, first time spawning, and so much more lead to so many questions. It has a grand idea, but we're hoping that the execution is much grander.

Q: A player bought the game, entered the world and got immediately killed. Is this possible?

A: Only in exceptional cases. Imagine, you entered the game and you are in your base. What are you going to do? You’ll probably learn how the controls work, look around your base and then decide to make a sortie to get some loot. It’s reasonable to assume that you will choose the safest place possible for your sortie. The game will enable you to measure your chances and will always inform you of the dangers. If you are not ready to risk, you can go for the safe play. No one’s gonna kill you immediately unless you really want it.

Q: I came to a location and there is a camper behind every bush. What should I do?

A: Long camping is not about our game. The nature itself will literally kick you out from your warm place.

Q: I entered the game and I got immediately killed at respawn. Is this possible?

A: You can’t be killed at respawn even if you wish it: your character will respawn in their truck, and that’s a safe place.

Q: Still, is One Life an FPS or a Survival?

A: One Life is primarily a Survival with all characteristics of the genre. The gameplay is just like in any other survival shooter game: it’s all about quick reactions, good accuracy and having a good head on your shoulders. One Life is a hardcore for those seeking for something new. I would even say that it’s a concentrated hardcore for the most persistent players.

Q: What should I do if the electricity turned off or the Internet disconnected for some technical reason? What if a cheater killed me?

A: Our tech support team will help you solve all these issues. They will be able to revive your character in case its death wasn’t your fault. However, no one will be able to exploit the system as we’ll keep a log of contacting the tech support team for every player

Q: Players suggest you lots of monetization options and different ways of softening the permanent death aspect. Do you listen to the community?

A: As for the system of temporary or seasonal ban and other suggestions, we pay attention to every single suggestion and feedback on our game. We wouldn’t like to change the main concept of One Life. However, we are open to consider different variants with additional game modes for weak players who are not ready for hardcore games.
